All That is Yours - a novel by Kristiina Bruun
My debut novel, published in Finnish by S&S in 2015, is a transformative story of Anna—a cross-cultural love story and a celebration of life’s resilience. After studying writing at the University of Helsinki’s Palmenia Institute, I drew from my journals to craft a heartfelt narrative that honors human connection, vulnerability, and the beauty of change.
Three strangers. Three lives. One unforgettable journey toward belonging.
In the early 1990s, Finnish-born Anna travels to the United States in search of a new kind of freedom—a life of independence, meaningful work, and perhaps, an American husband.
Half a world away, in monsoon-drenched Bangladesh, kind-hearted Delwar struggles to provide for his family after the sudden loss of his father. He dreams of a stable job, a secure future, and a wife to share it with.
Meanwhile, Taslima, a beautiful woman from a privileged background, is searching for herself within the quiet confinement of an early marriage. Though deeply lonely, she finds strength in raising her daughter—and hope in a world of emerging possibilities.
As their lives unfold, Anna’s, Delwar’s, and Taslima’s paths unexpectedly intertwine. In their connection, nationality, class, and social status fade away—revealing the universality of joy, sorrow, longing, and love.
All That is Yours is a poetic, emotionally resonant novel—an unforgettable love story and a tender celebration of human connection and the uniqueness of every journey.

“Anna wanted to turn away from the path, even briefly. The independent Finn longed for a new kind of freedom before finding herself organizing already organized affairs in some central headquarters in Central Finland.”
“Taslima wished she could carry the scent of rose with her always, like the rock she had collected.”
“Delwar never determined the course of his life. It only flowed on, as it wasn’t in his hands.”
All That Is Yours is a poetic, intense, and quietly powerful story. Beyond a love story, it is a transformative journey that explores vulnerability, cultural complexity, and what it means to truly belong. In the space between loss and discovery, the characters learn that identity is not fixed—and that home may be something we carry within us.
